Come join University Museums at Iowa State University for unique tours that will bring together art and STEM!
We'll begin with a tour of the exhibition Full Steam Ahead: Creativity, Beauty, Science, and Engineering on view in the lower gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum in Morrill Hall. The exhibition examines how science and technology has been used to create or inspire art throughout human history, along with the role women have played in STEM fields and science based art.
Next, we'll head outside for a fascinating tour through a selection of the Art on Campus collection. ISU holds the largest public art collection on a college campus in the U.S. Many of those works of art were created to engage with the numerous science- and technology-based departments found at ISU and are wonderful examples of the creativity and beauty that can be found in STEM. It will be a fun-filled day of learning about how much art and science really have in common!
*Chaperones are welcome but not required for this event.
