Do you know how our state legislature works, and what goes into creating our laws?  Are you interested in possibly running for public office someday?  Join us for an informative and FUN day at our State Capitol!

You’ll enjoy a tour of the Capitol and our State Historical Building, learn from the experts about how an idea can become a law,and how to be an active citizen, and get the chance to meet with your representatives!

Brownies will complete the requirements for the Celebrating Community badge.
Juniors will complete the requirements for the Inside Government badge.

You will receive a reminder email seven days before the event and again three days before the event. This will have the schedule of events, date, and time and location reminders as well. If you would like to set up a meeting with your State Representative or Senator, visit this website and contact those serving your area.

Attire for the day: Girls please come in uniform with comfortable walking shoes. Adults please wear Girl Scout apparel and comfortable walking shoes. No flip flops, tank tops or yoga pants.

Items to bring: Clipboards, pen or pencil, a small cinch sack or back pack and a refillable water bottle.

Lunch will be provided by Hy-Vee and will be a small sub sandwich, chips, cookie and a bottle of water. Please indicate if you have a food allergy or specific dietary needs on the registration (Vegetarian or Gluten Free) in the allergy section.  Other outside food is prohibited.
