A Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.) is a Girl Scout entering grades 10 or 11 who participates in our extremely-successful Leadership Program directed toward her future in camp counseling, teaching, or other human service fields. Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is proud to offer one of the most successful C.I.T programs in the nation. This leadership program is completed over a two summer period. After successful completion of the program, these campers are eligible to apply to work as camp staff.
CIT II: Building on skills learned in the first year, you will have the opportunity to put counseling skills into practice, gain knowledge in safety practices, and experience program instruction as you lead activities with other campers.
C.I.T.s will have a session break from 1:30 p.m. on August 4 through 1:00 p.m. on August 6. C.I.T.s must make arrangements to leave camp during this session break.
