Hey Girl Scouts! Are you ready to discover the prairies of South Dakota and experience life as Laura Ingalls Wilder?  We will travel to DeSmet, SD and visit the Ingalls Homestead and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society. We will take a covered wagon ride, make corn husk dolls, learn how to use a washboard & get a fun patch!

Pack your pioneer lunch pail, it’s going to be a great day!

Schedule for the Day:

•  7:00 AM: Check in at SC LC.
•  7:15 - 7:30 AM: Depart from 1515 Zenith Dr. Sioux City, IA 51103.
•  8:20 AM: Rest stop at Truck Towne Plaza 47018 SD-46, Beresford, SD 57004
•  10:15 AM: Estimated arrival at Ingalls Homestead, 20812 Homestead Rd in De Smet, SD
•  12:15 - 12:45 PM: Lunch.  Please make sure to pack a sack lunch and refillable water bottle!
•  1:00 PM: Depart from the Ingalls Homestead
•  1:15 PM: Arrive at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society,105 Olivet Ave SE in De Smet, SD
•  3:00 PM:  Final departure from LIWMS.  A snack will be provided for the ride home by GSGI.
•  5:30 PM:  Drop-off stop in Beresford
•  6:30 PM:  Final drop-off in Sioux City. 

This event is for Girl Scout members and their chaperones only - please no tagalongs!  Chaperones should register using the following ratio guidelines:

• Daisies: 1 chaperone per every Daisy Girl Scout
• Brownies & Juniors: 1 chaperone per every 4 Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts

*Please, no more than one chaperone per every Girl Scout!

*Girls and chaperones should make sure to bring a sack lunch and a refillable water bottle
