Hey Girl Scouts! Are you ready to discover the prairies of Iowa and experience life as Laura Ingalls Wilder?  We will travel to Burr Oak, IA and visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum for Laura Days! We will take a wagon ride, make corn husk dolls, make butter, listen to stories under the trees and enjoy a Parade!

Pack your pioneer lunch pail or bring some money for the food vendors, it’s going to be a great day!

Schedule for the Day:

• 6:00 AM:  Check in at the Des Moines Leadership Center
• 6:15-6:30 AM: Depart from 10715 Hickman Rd. Des Moines, IA 50322
• 8:00 AM: One stop at Mason City Leadership Center (601 S. Illinois Ave. Mason City, IA 50401) 
• 10:30 AM: Arrive at 2019 Laura Days in Burr Oak, Iowa
• 3:30 PM: Departure from 2019 Laura Days.  We'll have a snack on the way home, provided by GSGI
• 5:30 PM: Drop-off at Mason City Leadership Center
• 7:30 PM: Final Drop-Off at Des Moines Leadership Center

This event is for Girl Scout members and their chaperones only - please no tagalongs!  Chaperones are required and should register using the following ratio guidelines:

• Daisies:  1 chaperone per every Daisy Girl Scout
• Brownies & Juniors:  1 chaperone per every 4 Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts

*Please, no more than one chaperone per every Girl Scout!

*Girls and chaperones should bring a sack lunch or money to purchase meals at the event.  Girls and chaperones should bring a refillable water bottle.
